How to Bloom Hibiscus Year-Round
A simple feeding and light routine that keeps desi and Hawaiian hibiscus flowering almost every day.

Light is everything
Hibiscus needs 4-6 hours of gentle morning sun. In peak summer, protect it from harsh afternoon rays or buds will drop before opening.
Never let it dry out
Unlike bougainvillea, hibiscus wants consistently moist soil. A single missed watering in summer causes bud drop.
The phosphorus trick
Feed a high-phosphorus liquid fertiliser every 10-14 days. This is the single biggest lever for daily flowering.
Pest watch
Mealybugs and whiteflies love hibiscus. Inspect leaf undersides weekly and treat early with neem oil.
